Expression of PTEN ¡¢P27 and Ki67 in Human Salivary Gland Mucoepidermoid Carcinomas
Objective: To detect the expression of tumor suppressor gene PTEN. P27 and Ki67 in salivary gland mucoepidermoid carcinomas and investigate their significance. Methods: Immunohistochemistry S-P method was used to detect the expression of PTEN . P27 and Ki67 in 18 cases of well-differentiated and 13 ones of poorly-differentiated human salivary gland mucoepidermoid carcinomas, and statistical analysis was performed. Results: Positive rates of PTEN and P27 expression were 88.89% and 94.44% in well-differentiated mucoepidermoid carcinomas , respectively. Positive rates of PTEN and P27 expression were 53.85% and 46.15% in poorly-differentiated mucoepidermoid carcinomas ,respectively. Proliferation index of Ki67 was 5.18% and 10.38% in well-differentiated and poorly-differentiated mucoepidermoid carcinomas , respectively .Positive rates of PTEN and P27 expression and proliferation index of Ki67 had statistical difference between well- and poorly-differentiated mucoepidermoid carcinomas, respectively(P<0.05);Expression status of PTEN was related to that of P27(r s= 0.445,P<0.05), and there was negative correlationship between P27 and Ki67 (rs= -0.423,P<0.05).Conclusions:Expression status of PTEN. P27 and Ki67 had relation to histological grade in salivary gland mucoepidermoid carcinomas.
