A Clinical Study of Doxycycline Slow-Release Gel on Periodontitis Chemotherapy

Objective:The aim of this study was to to observe the effect of Doxycycline slow-release on periodontitis chemotherapy. Methods:30 patients with chronic periodontitis were chosen and devided into 2 groups randomly,these cases were given Doxycycline slow-release and Zinciodati Comp solution . PLI,GI,SBI,PD,AL,MD and clinical syptoms were observed before and after taking drug .Results:The indose of PLI,GI,SBI,PD,AL,MD were decreased significantly after the use of Doxycycline slow-release gel(p<0.05),the effects of the Doxycycline is better than Zinciodati Comp solution (p<0.01),No adverse drug relations were found during trial. Conclusion:The study concluded that the use of Doxycycline slow-release gel is one of the safe and effective chemotherapy on periodontitis .
