Correction of Angle Class II Division 2 with Expansion and Elastic in adult

Objectives:Objective was to study the correction of Angle II division 2 with upper/lower arch expansion and Class II elastic in adults. Methods: Methods were that expanding upper/lower arch and Class II elastic were used to correct the Angle Class II division 2 malocclusion in adult. Study models and cephalograms were analyzed before treatment and after treatment. Results: Results were that, compared before treatment with after treatment, the maxillary variables of cephalograms showed no significant differences; the mandibular variables of cephalograms showed significant differences in sagittal and vertical direction; U1-NA, U1-PP, L1-NB, L1-MP, U1-L1 and L6-Ptm significantly increased during treatment; Overbite in models decreased and showed significant change; the width of upper canine, upper premolar, upper molar, lower canine and lower premolar were increased significantly; lower canine and lower molar were moved mesially 4.1mm and 3.6mm respectively. The molar relationships were changed Class I from Class II.Conclusions: Conclusion suggested it is a valid way to correct Angle Class II division 2 with upper/lower arch expansion and Class II elastic in adults.
