Electrosonography analysis of sounds from Temporomandibular joint Internal Derangement

Objectives: To investigate the character of waveform and electrosonography of sounds emanating from internal derangement of TMJ. Methods: Recording and analyzing the sounds from normal person (NP) and patients diagonosed as anterior dic displacement with reduction (DDR) and without reduction (DDNR) of TMJ by K6-I system. Results: A kind of characteristic waveform can be found in patients of DDR, the wave pattern and electrosonography were different among NP, DDR, DDNR, amplitude of sounds from DDR are higher than DDNR and normal person. Conclusions: The wave pattern and electrosonography were different among NP, DDN, DDNR, which can be useful for different diagnosis of Internal Derangement of TMJ.
