Clinical Evaluation of Tapered Root-form Immediate Implant Placement
Objective: To evaluate the clinical result of immediate implant placement using tapered root-form fixtures. Materials and Methods: 38 cases with 65 Replace Select?or Camlog?implants underwent immediate implant surgery. Bone graft procedures including using autogenous alveolar bone or bone substitute were adopted when necessary. The second stage operation was conducted in 4-6 months and then prosthesis was delivered. Results: All the cases showed positive clinical effects except for one failed implant in 12-24 months follow-up. Conclusion: Tapered root-form implant is applicable for immediate placement, observation for long-term outcomes should be conducted to evaluate if such a high successful rate could be maintained.
