Purpose of this study is to evaluate the 3D changes occurring in the Maxilla and in the Face of patients with Unilateral CLP after presurgical NAM.
Method:
A blinded, retrospective study of 24 digital models. Impressions had been taken in the initial period of the treatment and before Lip surgery. All impressions were digitalized. Facial and maxillary linear measurements were performed to digital models.
Result:
Statistically significant (p<0.05) increase in nasal width and decrease in columella width measurements was observed. Highly statistically significant (p<0.01) increase observed in the columella length measurements. Intraorally, highly statistically significant (p<0.01) was the decrease of the anterior and posterior cleft width and significant was correction of dislocation of big and small segment.
Conclusion:
Infants with presurgical NAM improved significantly intraorally and extraorally compared to presurgical status
