Methods: A 3,7mm monocortical round bone defect was drilled on the right mandibles angle of 36 three months old male rats. The animal on the experimental group received, diluted in their drinking water, three drops of Plumbum metallicum 30CH. The medicated water was replaced daily. Meanwhile the animals on the control group received plain water. Three animals of each group were euthanized within one, three, seven, 14, 21 and 28 days after surgery. Their mandibles were removed. After standard processing, semi-seriated cuts were stained by HE and Massonxs Trichrome.
Results: Histological analysis on light microscopy revealed that the experimental group treated with homeopathic Plumbm showed a faster bone repair when compared to control group.
Conclusions: Homeopathic Plumbum metallicum was efficient in stimulating bone repair on bone defects on jaws of rats.
