The Use of Lincomicin on the Avulsed Radicular Teeth Surface

Objectives:This research, which has been done in Universidade Federal de Alagoas – UFAL, in the pursuit of assisting the research of the topic usage of antibiotics in dental reimplants, analyzes the lincomicin effect on rats' avulsionados radicular teeth surface. Methods:10 rats were used (Rattus norvegicus albinus) divided into two groups (control and experimental). After anesthetic, the right upper incisor extraction took place, remaining submerged in milk for 30 minutes (extra-alveolar storage). Then, in the Control Group, the reimplant was done. In the Experimental Group, before the reimplant, the teeth remained immersed in lincomicin for 5 min. After 20 days, the animals were killed and the chirurgic pieces were used to make microscopical analysis.Results:microscopy showed in the Control group, the absence of periodontic membrane reinsertion to the cement and the presence of linfoplasmocytic inflammatory infiltrated; int the Experimental group, the periodontic membrane was healthy, with functional fiber disposal, without inflammatory infiltrated and reinserted to the cement; anquilosys and active surface resorption were observed though. Conclusions:this research allows us to conclude that the topic usage of lincomicin on avulsionados radicular teeth surface preserves the integrity of periodontic membrane and contributes for its reinsertion to the cement; however, it doesn't reduce the inflammatory resorption and the dento-alveolar anquilosys.
