The knowledge about implications of teeth solicitation by Dentistry's teacher
Objectives:this study verified the grade of the knowledge that teachers for Dentistry of the South Area and South West from Brazil have about solicitation teeth and legal implicate about this. Methods:the sample consists of the 300 teachers for Dentistry subdivided in: 150 teachers of the South Area and 150 teachers of the South-West Area. The methodology to be based in applies of the specific questionnaire with open and close question and after the basis went submit at statistic analysis.Results:the purpose of the 300 questionnaires, 278(92,6%) went answered. From that, 14 (5%) of the interviewed do not know that tooth is an organ. The solicitation of the teeth has been doing for 168(60,4%) of the teachers and among than 50 (17,9%) search to know the procedence. The 278 teachers that participated 216 (77,6%)do not know that is crime to solicit teeth at students of dentistry, and 161 (57%) think that is possible to substitute for artificial teeth. As to have bank of teeth in the institution, obtained 244(87%) how negative, and 238 (85,6%) do not know that to solicit unfounded material put in law of the incitation at crime. About the place that the teacher thinks that students use for disposal of the teeth, verified: 105(37,7%)from cemetery, 252(90,6%) from particular offices and 258 (92,8%) from public health place. The teachers (71,9%) have no idea about the law that disposal about market of the organ. About bank of teeth in the institution, 259 (93,1%) think that this is efficacious to finish with market of teeth.Conclusions:the findings show that is necessary to instruct to teachers about responsibilities and risks in the kind of teeth obtain and to motivate the institutions to create the bank of teeth.
