Adhesive resistance to cutting of universal adhesives applied with different dentin treatments.

Objective: To analyze the values ??of adhesive resistance to the cut of universal adhesives applied with treatments of total etching, adamantine etching and self-conditioning. Methods: In 18 molars, cavities of maximum extension of 4 mm deep were carved. They were divided into groups according to the treatment of the dentin substrate:Total etching  Group 1: Monobond 7 self etching. Group 2: One coat 7 universal.Group 3: Universal single bond. , Adamantine etching Group 4: Monobond 7 self etching. Group 5: One coat 7 universal.Group 6: Universal single bond. Self-conditioning:  Group 7 Monobond 7 self etching. Group 8: One coat 7 universal.Group 9: Universal single bond. The application followed the manufacturer's instructions, they were sealed with an oblique incremental technique. They were cut to obtain 2 specimens of 2.60 mm wide by 2.60 mm high. A universal testing machine with a head speed of 0.5 mm per minute was used. The data were analyzed with Analysis of Variance of one and two ways. Results: The values ??in MPa (mean ± SD) were: Group 1: 7.06 ± 3.01. Group 2: 10.74 ± 4.36.Group 3: 8.20 ± 3.92.Group 4: 7.41 ± 2.23.Group 5: 6.84 ± 1.50.Group 6: 5.86 ± 2.10.Group 7: 5.83 ± 1.94.Group 8: 7.14 ± 2.37.Group 9: 8.06 ± 3.51. Regarding dentinal adhesives and treatments:One coat 7 universal + total etching reached the highest values ??with significant differences (p = 0.024). Monobond 7 self etching + enamel etching achieved the highest values ??(p = 0.384) without statistical significance (p = 0.299) and universal single bond as a self-conditioner recorded the highest values ??without statistical differences between the remaining treatments (p = 0.299). In general, total etching (8.61 ± 3.96) recorded significantly higher resistive values ??(p = 0.049) compared to the enamel etching technique (6.71 ± 1.98) and self-conditioning (6.91 ± 2.68). The different adhesives had no significant differences (p = 0.205).Conclusions: The total etching treatment method obtained the highest bond strength values. Universal adhesives showed adhesive values ??without significant differences between them.
