The incorporation of technology in human affairs is an interdisciplinary field of study that covers all areas of knowledge. The impact of the incorporation of new technologies in the therapeutics alternatives may to offer the prosthodontic, is especially relevant. The extent that these developments are adopted, permit the boarding population of these phenomena. In order to know the extent of adoption of available technologies in the field of Prostodontic in the dentistry community in the city of Rosario, were established theoretical categories to characterize this community as an adopter of technological change related to the Prostodontic. 503 surveys were conducted on a population of 2000 dentists. The survey population graduated between 1964 and 2008. 54% of respondents serves as a teacher in the FOR. 8% is devoted mainly to the implant, and of these, 71% receives patients referred. 80% of professionals that are not dedicated to the implant, inform their patients about this treatment option. The most important adoption of the technology on the basis of information provided by respondents occurred between the years 1998 and 2000. 56% of respondents received training on implant theoretically. Among the reasons for having adopted the technique include the interest on the part of the patient (37%); economic profitability (23%); already conducted surgical practices (20%) and considering it the best Therapeutic solution (20%). The population of dentists working in clinical practice are behaving as adopters of technology so that they are distributed in a curve divisible into 4 categories: Innovative, early adopters, early majority, late majority and laggards, which confirms the usefulness of the theoretical framework used. This study is the first phase of an investigation that will deepen the framework of the implementation of a research project based at the FOR and that is part of a research program "Epidemiology applied to the Prosthodontic"
