Analysis of Academic performance: shared teaching experience
Introduction: In the first semester of the year 2008 for Physiology I we developed traditional teaching and at the same time we used an experience with the shared teaching. Objectives: To compare student academic performance in Physiology I using different teaching either stra- tegies the with same teacher or with different teachers per group of students. Material and Method: two hundred and ten students were divided into two groups: group “A” with 105 students, hom different units of the subject were developed by the same teacher using different teaching strategies, such as expository class, questions elaborated by the students with the books open, and others. Conceptual maps and learning based on problems for group A, and for group B with 105 students, the learning strategies were the same but they are developed by different teachers. Both groups were evaluated with the measuring instrument concerning opportunities. At the end of semester, both groups were evaluated with the e integrating exam which consisted of five open questions. Results: The results obtained from the evaluations in group “A” and “B” were presented. In Group “A” 80% the students passed the test and in Group “B” 95.23% . Conclusions: a positive difference was obtained concerning performance of the evaluation of topics. Conside- ring academic performance of the students present in classes developed by the same teacher ( Group “A”) . In ion to the integration test there was a difference in favor of the students present in class with diffreent teachers group “B”).
