DRUGS AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER CAUSES OF CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE. (CRF)
Cronic renal failure (CRF) means gradual and progressive loss of kidney function ,especially to eliminate metabolics residues, to obtain equilibrium of urine concentration and to mantein electrolityc niveau. Thre are some causes of this damage, and the principal are :diabetes, wicked kidney growing and the effect of some pharmacologyc drugs. With the purpose to study the relationship that could exist between intaking medicaments before CRF and other reasons that could provoque this colaps, such as some ilness, there were analized 72 clinical histories of patients attended in the Hospital Español of La Plata Dialisys Service, in a period of 2 years, 960hours/patient. There were registed data from familiar and personal records , another concomitant pathologies and pointed up any drug intake before renal failure. 60/72, 83% of patients had taking medicaments before CRF. 22/60,30% hav intake especifics medicaments that by clinic evidence provoqued renal disfunction.13/22 Furosamide (diuretic antihypertensive) and 9/22 antibiotics: Gentamycin or Vancomicin. On 25/72 patients (35%) from the same group, bad kidny growing was the cause of CRI. On 20/72 under dialisis, 28%, the cause was diabetic nefrophaty and 5/72, 7% was Glomerulonefritis. Chi2 was applied to this data with a result of significant statistic difference of p=o,045.Conclusions: By statistyic study and clinical evidences we assume that FUROSAMIDE, GENTAMICIN AND VANCOMICIN resulted nephrotoxic mdicaments in this sample . However, the other illnes, could be the principal etiological causes or co-factors in CRF Key words: renal failure, causes, drugs
