Retrospective study of oligodontia incidente in panoramic radiographic
The congenital absence of teeth is one of the commonest developmental abnormalities seen in human populations.Absence of permanent tooth o the persistence of temporar tooth motivate orthodontic visit . Materials and Methods: 200 clinical history were studied and its panoramic radiographic . Study group: patients aged 6 to 55 years old with needed of orthodontic treatment . Absence of tooth was observed , its frequency, quantity, if it was a radiographic discovery or it was motive of consultation. The relationship between oligodontia and dentist treatment. It was observed if they were children or adults And the prevalence by gender.Statistical analysis was performed Results: women have more oligodontia than men. Lateral incisor was the most frequent, then premolars in upper and lower maxilar . generally in both sides of mouth.Treatment depends on total diagnosis Duch as implants or orthodontic treatment close spaces. There are a loto f adults Ruth oligodontia and with temporary tooth without tooth retention Conclusions:oligodontia is a frequent patology in our country, diagnosis is important for a succesfulorthodontic treatment, paoramic radiographic is immportant for that diagnosis.
