Results: A total of 56 residents from three nursing homes from the Suva area participated in this study. There were 68% female and 32% male residents compromising of Fijians,Indians and others. The mean DMFT was 21.5 with missing component being highest. The most prevalent score for CPITN was 3 (42%) amongst the residents. Conclusion: The mean DMFT was very high amongst the nursing home residents in Suva, Fiji. The missing component contributed significantly to this. The need for a prosthesis existed in 93% of the residents.
