Evaluation of Apical Leakage after Root Canal Preparation by RCPrep

Objectives: The use of chelating such as RC Prep for easy root canal preparation with rotary instruments has increased. Methods: 66 human extracted teeth divided into 3 experimental groups and two control groups. Group A prepared using RC Prep and NaOCl 2.5%. Group B prepared with NaOCl 2.5%. Group C prepared by RC Prep and saline. All other processes were the same for all groups. Mean dye leakage was measured by stereomicroscope. Results: The difference between group B & C was statistically significant. The difference between group A & C was not significant. RC Prep does not have any effect on apical leakage. Conclusions: RC Prep, as a lubricant and chelating agent, does not have any effect on apical leakage and is useful for canal preparation by instruments.
