Effect of Type of Fiber on Flexural Strength of Composite
Objective: The aim of this study was evaluation of flexural strength of composite with two types of fiber. Methods: 30 samples of composite (Synergy) having dimensions of 25x2x6 mm were made. In 20 samples fibers (Ribbond, Fiber-Splint) were incorporated in the samples during fabrication. All samples were stored 24 hours in 100% humidity before were subjected for three point bending test with an Instron machine having a cross head speed of 1 mm/min. ANOVA was used for the statistical analyses. Results: There was no significant difference in flexural strength of Ribbond and Fiber-Splint in comparison to the unreinforced control group. Conclusions: The flexural strength of Synergy did not improve after reinforcement with Ribbond and Fiber-Splint.
