Keynote Address: Perspectives on in Vitro Testing and Clinical Results of Short Implants
Abstract Body: The implant-abutment-prostheses assembly may present several configurations that ultimately result in different survival under fatigue testing. Factors such as different implant diameters, abutment designs, prostheses retention modes (screwed, cemented, and hybrid), as well as different prostheses materials, including those 3D printed, may affect the final restoration longevity and will be discussed in this presentation. Also, survival results and complication rates from retrospective clinical studies, collected from private practices that use short and extra-short implants to support from single crowns to partial and full-arch fixed prostheses will be presented along with risk factors.
