Dental Practitioner's Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice About the use of SDF in Adult Patients

Objectives: This study aims to assess a group of dental practitioner's knowledge, attitudes, and practice of using SDF for adult patients.
Methods: For the IRB-exempt study, an anonymous 12-question survey was created to be distributed among dental practitioners.
The questions equally evaluated practitioners' current knowledge about SDF and their attitudes and practices, including the possible barriers to the regular use of SDF in daily practice.
Results: The interim results from the current received answers show that dental practitioners are aware and familiar with silver diamine fluoride and what it can be used for; however, the implementation of and current practice seems to be influenced by the age of the patient and unsure about the cost and reimbursement of the procedure.
Conclusions: The current study's results will help assess the possible gaps and barriers to using this technique in regular practice.
