Assessment of Practitioner Satisfaction With new Simplified-Shade Composite Solution
Objectives: The following beta-test aimed to gather feedback from dentists using a new simplified-shade composite solution in daily practice for anterior and posterior restorations. Methods: From April 1st to June 30th 2023 a beta-test with the new Venus Diamond/Pearl PURE Shade line was conducted in Western Europe, North America and Australia. The dentists received a test package with the four new shades LIGHT, MEDIUM, DARK and BLEACH for usage with monochromatic layering in the anterior and posterior and were asked for feedback concerning perceived simplification, colour matching and usage. Data was collected and analysed in Microsoft Excel. Results: In total feedback from 155 dentists, placing approximately 6714 restorations in class I – V cavities, was gathered. 70% of dentists associated the benefit of simplified application as high with the new simplified anterior shade system, 65% of dentists rated the benefit of high “mistake” tolerance in colour selection as high and 57% of dentists rated the benefit of saving time as high (table 1). High satisfaction with the colour match was achieved in all cavity classes (table 2). Conclusions: The four new shades fulfill the demands for maximum anterior simplicity, thus saving time, minimizing “colour” mistakes and at the same time deliver pleasing aesthetics in the anterior and posterior.
