Method: The sample consisted of 99 postmenopausal women, and G1 (n = 45), G2 (n = 31) and G3 (n = 23), which were submitted to the examination of periodontal status, by clinical attachment level (CAL), probing depth (PD), gingival index (GI) and plaque index (PI) and then carried to the examination of bone densitometry.
Result: The values of the variables CAL, PS, IG and IP revealed mainly statistical difference between groups G1 and G3 and between G2 and G3. Moreover, the results showed a higher percentage of presence of periodontal disease in the group of women with osteoporosis.
Conclusion: The clinical parameters of periodontal status of postmenopausal women interviewed and analyzed expressed its relation to osteoporosis.
