Organic Matrix Degradation of the Bovine Teeth Submited to H2O2

Objective: The objective of this work was to evaluate through the fluorescence degree the organic matrix degradation of the bovine teeth submited to hidrogenium peroxid from 35%.

Method: Thirty samples were confeccioned in bovine dentin to 6mm x 6mm x 2mm, these were fixed in one plate of glass to images standardization and were divided in groups of accord with the time of treatment with H2O2 from 35%: Gr1 – control; Gr2 – 30min; Gr3 – 60min; Gr4 – 90min; Gr5 – 120min. The specimens were positioned 15cm of 2 lamps with black light (UV) of 127V, 60Hz, 15Watts each, and were obtained digital images with Canon Rebel 300D/ macro 100 lens in black and white, in maximum resolution, after each treatment. The specimens that show the biggest fluorescence degree present clearer and all specimens are evalueted of histogram in Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. The results were submited to ANOVA (p<0,05).

Result: There were not significant differences among the groups.

Conclusion: Basing in the results obtained, the autors had the conclusion that, with this digital analysis of images, it hadn’t changed significantly in the organic matrix of the bovine teeth although is necessary more information relationing the resistence of the dental structure after this tipe of treatment.
