Satisfaction with the esthetic result of prosthetic treatment: qualitative study

Objective:  The aim of this study was to investigate the perception of patients who received prosthetic treatment in anterior teeth provided on the school clinic at the University of Southern Santa Catarina  (UNISUL).

Method: The method used was qualitative assessment, case study and this project was approved by the Ethics Committee of UNISUL, Protocol number 09.518.4.02.III. Data collection was through semi-structured interview and the study population consisted of 9 patients who had completed prosthetic treatment in the reporting period.

Result:  It was observed that the patients were satisfied with the attention given to clarify the treatment plan and also the final cosmetic results, as well as guidelines and clarification of doubts about continuing treatment.

Conclusion: It was concluded that affective factors are critical in the satisfaction obtained by the patients. Then, suggests that the dental schools, that already form technically good professionals, associate affective factors in relationships that involve components such as dentist-patient satisfaction with the treatment.
