The Effect Of Colgate Toothpaste To Decrease Sensitivity
Objective: To evaluate the effect of colgate anti - sensitive toothpaste in the treatment of dentine sensitivity(DS) after sub-scaling and root planing. Methods: one hundred patients had finished super-scaling was divided into test group and control group. Test group administrated colgate anti - sensitive toothpaste four weeks after sub-scaling and root planning, and control group used colgate toothpaste that no anti - sensitive components. At the baseline and one month after sub-scaling and root planning, probing depth(PD) and visual analogue scale(VAS )were observed. Results: No complications were observed in both groups at baseline. After sub-scaling and root planing one month, probing depth of two groups both decreased and no difference, but visual analogue scale(1.24±1.02)of the test group were improved compared with the control group (5.28±2.45), the difference was significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Colgate anti - sensitive toothpaste play a role in the decrease of dentine sensitivity after sub-scaling and root planing.
