Electronic Curriculum Organizer (ECO)

To develop a comprehensive learning management tool for students, faculty and staff that could integrate several systems in use by the University of Florida, College of Dentistry. The Electronic Curriculum Organizer (ECO) is a Learning Management Tool that integrates several systems in use by the College of Dentistry. The goals of this tool were to: 1) provide online access to course information including schedules, syllabi, presentations, videos, and grades to students and faculty, 2) integrate several independent systems currently used by the college, including Evalsuite-an online testing, item analysis and faculty evaluation program, and ability to view Quick Recovery student schedules 3) provide basic web course management tool functions as the college migrates off Blackboard, 4) entry of real time clock hour information by course directors and, 5) serve as the foundation for a learning object model database.

ECO is a comprehensive integration tool that has incorporated the initial goals of its design. Phase II of ECO in the upcoming year will include further data granularity to map course objectives and college competencies.
