Evaluation of Influence of Excite on Marginal Gap of Ariston pHc Restorations

Summary

Object: Ever increasing demand for prevention and operative dentistry has caused to improve and invent new materials. One of these materials is Ariston PHC. objective:The aim of the research was evaluation the effect of Excite bonding on Marginal gap rate in Ariston PHC restorations.

Materials & Methods: This research was performed on 20 samples of human sound premolar teeth. They mechanically were cleaned and desinfected and mounted using self curing acryl. Then calss II cavity with the same dimention which gingival floor of cavity placed in cementum were prepared. The samples were restored as follows: In first group with Ariston PHC and recomended liner, in second group with Ariston PHC and Excite. After polishing, the samples were divided in two sections with metal disc. Digital photographise were prepared under sterio-microscope, then Marginal gap on three area of each sample measured. Results: The mean of marignal gap in first group was )44.12  14.34( and in second group was (6.65 21.02 ). t-Test analysis showed the significant difference between two groups. Marginal gap rate in group who used bonding was sufficiently decreased. conclusions:by using of Excite Marginal gap of Ariston were significantly reduced.
