HIV-1-infection Affects Periodontal Clinical Parameters

Methods. Two hundred and seven individuals receiving treatment at the School of Dentistry, Estácio de Sá University, were recruited: 74 HIV-1-infected and 133 non-HIV-1-infected. One hundred and ten had periodontitis and 97 did not. The effect of “HIV-1-i” on the diagnosis of periodontitis (0 = "no" and 1 = "yes") and periodontal clinical parameters [BOP (0 = "<10%" and 1 = "≥ 10%", PPD (0 = "≤ 3 mm" and 1 = "> 3 mm") and CAL (0 = "≤ 2 mm" and 1 = "> 2 mm") were estimated using binary logistic regression models.
