DESCRIPTIVE ANALYSIS OF AIDS ORAL MANIFESTATIONS IN SOUTH KALIMANTAN

Objectives: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) can cause the weakenes of human immune system. The person will be more susceptible to suffer the oppurtunistic diseases, when they have the CD4 cells less than 200 cell/µL. The oral manifestation of AIDS patient are candidiasis, periodonyal disease, and xerostomia. The purpose was analyze the description of oral manifestations in South Kalimantan on January – Mei 2019
Methods: This study was the descriptive analysis with cross sectional design . The data was obtained by historical study, clinical, and medical record examination. The result was analyzed by SPSS.
Results: Chi-square test showed no significant correlation among CD4, age, gender, marital status and duration of antiretroviral treatment towards xerostomia (p>0.05). There was no significant correlation among age, gender, and marital status towards candidiasis (p>0.05). That was a significant correlation between the number of CD4 and duration of antiretroviral treatment towards candidiasis (p<0.05). There was no significant correlation among age, gender, marital status and duration of antiretroviral treatment towards periodontal diseases (p>0.05). That was a significant correlation between the number of CD4 cells and periodontal disease (p<0.05).
Conclusions: There was a correlation among candidiasis towards the number of CD4 cells and the duration of ARV treatment. That was correlation between periodontal disease and the number of CD4 cells.
