Marginal Sealing In Inlays Of Lithium Disilicate And Ceramage® With Conventional Methods.

Objectives: To determine the marginal sealing of the incrustations in lithium disilicate and ceramage® with conventional techniques.
Methods: An in vitro, descriptive, cross section study was conducted. Sixty samples were selected and divided into two groups (A, B) with inlays preparations. Group A, composed of lithium disilicate restorations (IPS EMAX PRESS IVOCLAR VIVADENT) and group B with ceramage® (SHOFU), using manual technique and cementating with dual resinous cement (3M RELIX U-200) for both groups and then observed under the scanning electronic microscope (B-350 OPTIKA). Four oclusal zones (vestibular, distal, mesial and palatal / lingual) were analized.
Results: The lithium disilicate group obtained a lower range in the distal occlusion zone of the marginal seal (31.72μm) with a standard deviation of (5.82µm) in the lingual occlusal zone, whereas Ceramage® obtained a lower range in the mesial occlusion zone (26.67µm) with a standard deviation of (6.00µm) in the lingual occlusal zone.
Conclusions: Lithium disilicate and ceramage® are great materials for marginal adaptation, standard variation was not significant. Furthermore, ceramage® showed greater adaptation in all analyzed areas.
