Examination of Patency and Glide Path When Using TriAuto ZX2

Objectives: Tri Auto ZX2 can be used for patency and glide path of root canal according to manufacturer’s instruction manual. However, there have no reports that verified these details. Therefore, we investigated whether it is actually possible to patency and glide path in root canal of human extracted tooth using Tri Auto ZX2 OGP mode.
Methods: Human extracted premolars were radiographed after access opening, and were orifice enlarged using #35 .08 EndoWave (Morita, Japan, Ni-Ti rotary File). D-finder (Mani, Japan) was used root canal negotiation. Patency and glide path was done using OGP mode 180°, 300rpm in Tri Auto ZX2.
Group 1: Patency was possible with D-finder #10, but cannot be patency with D-finder #15. EndoWave MGP #15 (Morita, Japan) was used with Tri Auto ZX2 OGP mode for glide path.
Group 2: Patency was possible with D-finder #10, but cannot be patency with D-finder #15. Superfile #15 (Mani, Japan) was used with Tri Auto ZX2 OGP mode for glide path.
Group 3: Neither can be patency with D-finder #10 nor #15. EndoWave MGP #10 was used with Tri Auto ZX2 OGP mode for patency.
Group 4: Neither can be patency with D finder #10 nor #15. Superfile #10 was used with Tri Auto ZX2 OGP mode for patency.

Results: All root canals could be done glide path in group 1 and 2. 49.1% root canals in group 3 could be done patency using Endowave MGP#10 with Tri Auto OGP mode. 68.7% root canals in group 4 could be done patency using superfile #10 with Tri Auto ZX2 OGP mode.
There was no file broken in group 3. However, 10 flies were broken out of 32 files in group 4.
Conclusions: I t is suggested that Tri Auto ZX2 is good motor for patency and glide path after negotiation using D-finder #10.
