Response to Pulp Vitality on Thermal Tests in Healthy Teeth on Patients without Systemic Disorders

Objectives: The aim of this work is to understand the relationship between the painful stimulus and perception of it, to know whether gender is a factor of variability in the response to painful stimulation of dental pulp and whether age influences the pulp response, in addition to comparing the correlation between prior painful experience and pain caused by Endo-Ice
Methods: Students and patients of the Dental School were evaluated by developing a data table with the following variables (age group, gender, numerical pain scale, previous recorded maximum pain). Endo-Ice, Hygienic was applied in a healthy upper insisor, until registration of the unpleasant feeling; he scored on a pain scale of 1 to 10, and recording their painful experience maximum.
Results: Results: 60 women and 40 men with an average aged 20-24 (43%), recording 13 painful experiences, mainly: dental pain (21%), labor (17%) and visceral pain (13%). On the scale of perception of pain, dental records an average level of 4 (19%). 64% of birth records mentioned that the cold caused pain average of 5.
Conclusions: Conclusions: The maximum painful experience, was the dental pain, in this study, it was not proven that the maximum painful experience so strong influence on the scale of feeling the cold. It is to notice attention, that a person record as the highest painful experience the dental prophylaxis, after applying the cold recorded the pain to 10. We recommend increasing the number of subjects in the other age groups.
