Dynamic Observing: The Occlusion of All-zirconia Implant-supported Fixed Prosthesis
Objectives: The aim of this search was to analyze the occlusion change charactor of all-zirconia (without veneered) implant-supported fixed dental prosthesis. Methods: Thirty patients, including 17 males and 13 females, were recruited in this study. The average age was (50±10.3) years old. A total 41 zirconia crowns supported by implant were studied, and all of them were at first molar area of unilateral mono-maxillary. T-Scan III occlusal analysis system was used to measure the occlusal force distribution of the patients at intercuspal position, protrusive position, and lateral excursive position. All crowns were examined immediately and after 1 year use. T-test was used to compare the force percentage between the two times. P values<0.05 were considered significant. Statistical analyses were performed by SPSS 19.0 software. Results: All prosthesis had no occlusal interference at protusive and lateral excursive position. At the fisrt molar position, all-zirconia crown supported by implant took (5.75±0.64)% of the whole occlusal force at intercuspal position as soon as finished restore. After one year , there were 11 implants needing adjust occlusion, followed by (17.5±7.5)%. The percentage force of other 30 implants were (5.08±0.0.83)%, and it was considered no statistically significant. Conclusions: During one year observing, there was 26.8% of the fisrt molar all-zirconia crowns supported by implant needing adjust occlusion. It’s suggested that the occlusion of all-zirconia crown might change during daily use and needed test and adjust regularly. Using T-Scan III to test fisrt molar all-zirconia (without veneered) implant-supported fixed dental prosthesis, the percentage of occlusion force was (5.75±0.64)% at intercuspal position. In further, long-term studies are necessary to prove whether this data could be used as a standard.
