Effect of Light Curing Distance to Compressive Strength of Bulk-fill Composite

Objectives: to determine the effect of distance between the tip of the LED with the surface of the composite resin bulkfill against the compressive strength of the composite resin bulkfill
Methods: Compressive strength measurements performed by ADA specification no. 27. The samples were divided into 3 groups (n = 5 per group) shaped disk (width 6 mm high and 4 mm) were irradiated 10 seconds using LED, light intensity of 1100mW / cm2 (Demi Plus, Kerr) at a distance: 0mm, 5mm and 9mm. Samples are stored in distilled water at 37 ° C for 24 hours. Samples were tested using a Universal Testing Machine (UTM) with a load of 250 kgf and a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min.Sampel analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk test and One Way ANOVA
Results: The result of this study showed that compressive strength test irradiation at a distance of 0mm (158.55 ± 20.46), 5mm (153.61 ± 24.50), 9mm (147.81 ± 24.34). There is no significant difference between the distance exposure to the compressive strength of the composite resin bulkfill (p > 0.05).
Conclusions: Conclusions of this study showing that the irradiation distance up to 9 mm was not affect with compressive strength of the composite resin bulkfill.
