A Clinical Study of Repairing Bone Defect by the Tent

Objectives: To investigate the clinical results of repair vertical and horizontal bone defects of jaw in clinical features and effect by tent
Methods: From 2007 to 2009, 18 patients of horizontal defect bone defect of jaw and 10 patients vertical bone defect bone defect of jaw (15 female ,13 male,39 years old averaged) , used titanium nail support , filled with Bio-0ss and Bio-Gide membrane, to increase the height and width of the bone of jaw which was defect . No tension suture of wound. 53 ITI implants were placed in the repaired bone of jaw . The permanent ceramic crown were performed after 2 months.
Results: The success rate of implant is 100%. The height of alveolar bone of jaw average increased bone was(5± 0.89)mm, the alveolar bone of jaw width average increase bone was(5± 0.73)mm. The follow-up time was(3.5±2.1)years , The survival rate was 100%.
Conclusions: With the tent bone repairing, increasing of patients horizontal or vertical bone of jaw defect was a predictable and safe technique. There were no implants loose or lost,no clinical complaint of implant area, and X-ray examination showed well osseointegratation. long-term effect remains to be tracking.
