SEM Analysis on OHIP Subscales for Neurotic Complete Denture Wearers
Objectives: To investigate the relationships between subscales on oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) in complete denture wearers who have neurotic personality. Methods: 183 complete denture wearers who visited Tokyo Medical and Dental University Hospital were participated. OHRQoL was measured by OHIP EDENT-J and neuroticism by Modified Japanese Version of the Short-Form Eyzenck Personality Questionnaire (MS-EPQ). 85 participants whose neurotic score are higher than the average of 183 subjects were employed for analysis. A structural equation model (SEM) was constructed to examine the relationships between OHIP five categories (functional limitation, pain, discomfort, disability, and handicap) using AMOS17.0 (SPSS Japan Inc., Tokyo, Japan). It was hypothesized that functional limitation influence on pain, functional limitation and pain on discomfort, pain and discomfort on disability, and discomfort and disability on handicap. Results: Path diagram was shown at figure. The model demonstrated a good fit. p-value=1.000, SRMR=0.0019, GFI=1.000, and RMSEA=0.000. Conclusions: A SEM of relationship between OHRQoL subscales with neurotic complete denture wearers was constructed.
