Results: From collected data about knowledge i.e.collected from dental hygiene and BDS students of DUHS when compared,it is observed that values obtained is approximately equal.Difference was seen when question regarding acidity in mouth as a risk factor for dental caries was asked almost 15 dental hygiene students were not aware whereas 53 out of 57 BDS students had idea about risk factor. In section of attitude & behavior,a question was asked about habit of taking soft diet between meals, options given were yes,no & occasionally.Approximately 14 students from each group said yes.Remaining students said no.When a question regarding frequency of junk food intake was asked both groups were consuming it in normal frequency which indicates, they’re aware of importance of frequency as a risk factor.Minor difference was seen in question regarding source of awareness in prevention of dental caries.37 dental hygiene students think source is book while 46 BDS students think same.Others think source is tv,newspaper etc.In question asked if anyone of them suffering from tooth pain due to caries, majority said no.Majority from both groups uses fluoride tooth paste. In a question asked that how many times they brush their teeth. In average 45 from both groups at least brushes twice daily. When asked, how often do they visit dentist, out of 58 dental hygiene students 5 said once in 6 months,11 said once a year,13 said when feel pain in their teeth,2 said never & out of 58 BDS 11 replied once in 6 months,9 said once a year,19 said when feel pain,19 replied for never which indicates lack of awareness regarding dental attendance
Conclusions: All above results shows that awareness is somehow increasing and is approximately same in both groups but still there is need of more information regarding dental attendance
