To study the expressions of NOD1,NF-κB and human beta-defensin 1,2,3 (hBD-1,-2,-3) in oral candidal albicans leukoplakia
Method:
The HE staining,PAS staining, silver staining, and immunohistochemical method were adopted to detect candidal albicans leukoplakia.Western blot method was used to detect and compare the expressions of NOD1 and NF-κB between the candida albicans negative and positive group in oral leukoplakia tissues. In addition, the immunohistochemical method was adopted to investigate the relationship between NOD1,NF-κB, hBD-1,-2,-3 expression and candida albicans. Then Image J software was employed to analyze the results of immunohistochemistry, and study data were compared though statistical analysis.
Result:
Our results revealed that the positive rate of candida albicans in oral leukoplakia was 47.5%.All the expressions of NOD1,NF-κB,and hBD-1,-2,-3 in oral leukoplakia tissue in the candida albicans positive group are significant weakened than that in the negative group (P<0.05).
Conclusion:
Candida albicans infection may reduce the expression level of hBD-1,-2,-3 by inhibiting the NOD1 signaling pathway in oral leukoplakia,it may promote the development of oral leukoplakia and may be related to its greater tendency to cancer.
