Method: : A longitudinal type experimental investigation was performed with 54 adult male of the line Sprague Dawley rats distributed randomly into six groups, of which 3 were made up of 10 animals each; to those who were administered: IB, GB and IB + GB; and the 3 remaining groups (n = 8, each group) received saline as the GB and IB controls, the other was the witness group (WG). The GB was administered for 14 days, while the IB, both solely as in combination with the GB, was administered for 5 days. At the end of the administration of treatments were found bleeding, clotting, and prothrombin time, and they were then analyzed by Student T test through the Minitab ® Statistical program versión14. 0.
Result: mean (min.) Bleeding = GB + GT: 39 (p=0.27), IB+GT: 34,10 (p=0,003), GB-IB+GT: 45 (p=0,000), mean (min)Clotting = GB + GT: 4.28 (p=0.009), IB+GT: 3.91 (p=0,000), GB-IB+GT: 4, 32 (p=0.000) and mean (seg.) Prothrombin = GB + GT: 13,33 (p=0.004), IB+GT:12,10(p=0,012), GB-IB+GT:11,71(p=0,012).
Conclusion:
GB consumption significantly alters the hemostasis. Similarly, the administration of ibuprofen alters haemostasis, and the joint administration of Gingko biloba with ibuprofen according to the results obtained does alter the hemostasis in greater extent than each treatment separately.
